FAQS

How often should I get my car detailed?

The frequency of car detailing really depends on several factors, including your driving habits and the environmental conditions your vehicle is exposed to and lives in. In general, under normal use and conditions, we recommend a thorough detailing inside and out as needed. Vehicles with coatings we recommend a maintenance wash every 3 months. This gives us the opportunity to decontaminate all outside surfaces and ensure the hydrophobic properties are at their very best for the life of the coating. We can assess your specific needs and provide a personalized maintenance schedule to keep your car looking its best.

What services do you offer?

We offer a full range of car detailing services right here in Bibra Lake, Perth. Wash and decontamination, Paint Correction, Paint Protection, Wheel and Wheel Arch cleans, Engine Bay clean and of course Interior cleans.

How long does a detail take?

Depending on the service required, for example, a Decontamination Wash can take up to 1.5 hours to complete, compared to a vehicle in for Paint Correction and Paint Protection which can be a 2 day process. Talk with us to see what services you require and we can then work out the necessary time frames.

Do I need Paint Protection?

The short answer is No. But, if you want ease of cleaning, a quick wash and go when you're on the run and still have enhanced shine and then all the benefits of environmental protection a coating offers keeping your paint better for longer then the answer is Yes.

Pros of Having a Ceramic Coating on Your Car

1. Enhanced Protection:

- Ceramic coatings provide a strong, durable layer that shields your car's paint from UV rays, oxidation, and chemical stains. This helps maintain the paint’s integrity and appearance over time.

2. Hydrophobic Properties:

- The coating makes the car's surface highly water-repellent, causing water and other liquids to bead up and roll off easily. This reduces the risk of water spots, extends the time between washes and makes the car easier to clean.

3. Long-Lasting Durability:

- Compared to traditional wax or sealants, ceramic coatings can last for several years with proper maintenance, providing long-term protection and reducing the need for frequent reapplications, saving you time when cleaning.

4. Improved Aesthetic Appeal:

- Ceramic coatings enhance the colour depth and gloss of your car's factory paint, giving it a more vibrant and shiny appearance. This can make your vehicle look newer and more well-maintained.

5. Easier Cleaning:

- The smooth, non-stick surface of a ceramic-coated car makes it easier to wash off dirt, grime, and bird droppings. It also helps to prevent contaminants from bonding to the paint, reducing the effort required to keep the car clean.

Cons of Having a Ceramic Coating on Your Car

1. High Initial Cost:

- Applying a ceramic coating can be expensive, often costing several hundred to a few thousand dollars depending on the quality of the product and the size of the vehicle. This initial investment can be a deterrent for some car owners.

2. Complex Application Process:

- Properly applying a ceramic coating requires meticulous preparation, including thorough cleaning, paint correction, and careful application of the coating itself. It is recommended to have it professionally applied, adding to the overall cost.

3. Maintenance Requirements:

- While a ceramic coating reduces the need for frequent waxing, it still requires regular maintenance. Special shampoos and maintenance sprays are necessary to keep the coating in optimal condition.

4. No Absolute Protection:

- Although ceramic coatings offer substantial protection, they are not bulletproof. They can still get scratched, chipped, and damaged by road debris or improper washing techniques. It's important to understand the expectations regarding the level of protection provided.

Can you help me maintain my coatings?

We sure can. Just book in a "Maintenance Wash" and we can do that whilst you wait. A maintenance wash should occur every 3 months for daily driven vehicles where we test the hydrophobic properties of your coating. At this point we can determine the level of decontamination needed to in order to remove any environmental or industrial fall out sitting on the surface. Not removing these contaminates can shorten the life of your coating and will hinder its performance thus robbing you of the full benefits of the ceramic coating. Proper maintenance of the coating will see you enjoy the coatings effects long beyond its years.

How hard is it to look after a ceramic coating myself?

It's not any harder than looking after a vehicle with no coating. The main difference being the products used to wash and maintain it. The regularity of washing your vehicle is up to you and how you like your vehicle to be kept. A well maintained coating can reduce how often a vehicle needs washing thus reducing the chances of creating fine wipe marks from wiping the painted surfaces with a wash mit and drying towel if not done properly and with top quality accessories.
